Blissful festivities fill the air at LDCU RNP Campus grounds on December 7 as the Junior High School’s first-ever Weihnachtsmarkt unfolds—a German tradition reenacted and modernized on campus.
The event, organized by the collaborative creativity and efforts of the Deutscheverein executives, Languages Department, The Voice members, grade 9 and 10 students, and supportive parents, set to mark the beginning of an adored European tradition.
Delving more into the efforts of the representing sections appreciation for their marketing skills, oral skills, and artistic prowess were effectively exhibited in the booths they established, offering German delicacies, German refreshments, German related merchandise, photo booths, and much more throughout the Weihnachstmarkt.
Later on, the Weihnachtsmarkt, the Voice then greeted us with an intermission covering Eröffnungsgebet, Philippine National Anthem, Hymne der Universität, followed by welcoming words by Frau Jeorgelyn E. Barlisan, and afterwards Stille Nacht, Drummer Boy/O come all ye faithful, and lastly Joy to the world (Jonas Brother version) covered by The Voice.
The booths quickly reopened as students venture around one last time before reaching the highlight of the event, the lighting of the Christmas tree, occurred after the closing remarks delivered by Frau Jasmin C. Lagumbay, followed by the countdown of lighting the Christmas tree.
