STE Licean wins in the oratorical tilt

Now in its second year, the annual oratorical contest was initiated by RBR-JBR Youth Activities 2nd Representative Rufus B. Rodriguez and Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez. This was recently held on December 8, 2023 at the USTP Performing Arts Theater.

The said public speaking match was participated in by different private and public academic institutions in Cagayan de Oro City and was divided into two categories, namely senior high school and college.

After a thorough scrutiny of the content or substance of the piece, delivery, persuasion or impact, and time management, Mae Margot Gargar of the School of Teacher Education was proclaimed the first runner-up. She was coached by one of STE’s English instructors, Mr. Richmond B. Bejaan.

Cong. Rufus B. Rodriguez graced the event and highlighted the crucial role each youth plays in nation-building. This year’s competition revolved around the theme, Breaking the Stigma: Empowering Youth for Mental Health.
