STE’s classic-academia-themed party, a success!
Aimed at building camaraderie and forming future teachers’ character, an Acquaintance Party was recently concluded and successfully initiated by the School of Teacher Education (STE) on February 25, 2024 at the elegantly classy Flamingo Hall of Pearlmont Hotel. Such a memorable event is the first of its kind after a long hiatus brought about by the global pandemic.
With the theme, STE: Strengthening Teaching by Engaging, the two-part party officially kicked off with a red carpet entrance of the faculty, staff, Student Body Organization (SBO) officers, and students in their dashing classic-academia-inspired wear. This continued with the first part involving a getting-to-know-you game, the teachers’ dance presentation, and the students’ runway modeling, the party’s highlights. It then went on with the second part, the presentation and awarding of the first semester Dean’s Listers per course program.
Mr. Jerold Kent D. Turno, a third-year Bachelor of Physical Education student and Ms. Cherry Mae E. Gonzaga, a fourth-year Bachelor of Physical Education student bagged the Mr. Runway Model 2024 and Ms. Runway Model 2024 respectively. The People’s Choice Award was given to Mr. Justine Cinches, a second-year Bachelor of Elementary Education student. Ms. Rovie Joy Ompoc, a first-year Bachelor of Secondary (major in English) student, snatched the cash prize in the pot money raffle draw.
The year-level Runway Modeling contest winners were as follows:
First Place: First Year
Second Place: Third Year
Third Place: Fourth Year
Fourth Place: Second Year
Indeed, this evening of socializing and collaborating has made history and is a great milestone for STE geared towards students' affective development.
Cheers for the next school year’s Acquaintance Party!
