The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program prepares its graduates for work that addresses various user needs involving selection, development, application, integration, and management of computing technologies within an organization. The program covers courses that deal with hardware and software technologies and processes such as planning, installing, customizing, operating, managing and administering, and maintaining IT infrastructure.


PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

    • 1. Apply knowledge of computing, science, and mathematics appropriate to the discipline;
    • 2. Understand and apply the best practices and standards;
    • 3. Identify and define appropriate computing requirements for the solution of a problem;
    • 4. Identify and analyze user needs for the selection, creation, evaluation, and administration of computer-based system;
    • 5. Design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet the desired needs and requirements under various constraints;
    • 6. Integrate IT-based solutions into the user environment;
    • 7. Apply current techniques, skills, tools, and practices necessary in the profession;
    • 8. Effectively function as a member or a leader of a development team to accomplish a common goal;
    • 9. Assist in the creation of an effective IT project plan;
    • 10. Communicate effectively complex computing activities to the computing community and the general public through analytical writing, presentations, and instructions;
    • 11. Analyze the local and global impact of computing on individuals, organizations, and society;
    • 12. Commit to lifelong learning by continuously updating knowledge, skills, and attitudes; and
    • 13. Use information technology according to the universal ethical principles.

BACHELOR OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE‎

The Bachelor of Library and Information Science program produces globally competitive information professionals with competencies essential for the effective provision and delivery of library and information services. The program prepares students for the unique role of gathering, organizing, and coordinating access to the best information sources for the knowledge-based organization they belong to, implementing the standards for ethical and appropriate use of information. The program also trains students to harness a range of bibliographical and online tools to support teaching, research, and other services.
