LICEANS JOIN CSWD COMMUNICTY WALK FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION MONTH
In observance of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, students from Liceo de Cagayan University participated in a three-kilometer community walk on September 10, 2024. Organized by the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Psychosocial Division, the event took place at Rio de Oro Boulevard, Cagayan de Oro City.
Themed “Changing the Narrative on Suicide: Change Your Story With Us,” the walk started at J.R. Borja Street and ended at Barangay Puntod. The event served as a powerful symbol of the community's united effort to raise awareness about suicide prevention.
In line with this initiative, CSWD will also conduct a “Training of Trainers for Community Mental Health Advocates” from September 12 to 13, 2024, to equip advocates in promoting mental health throughout the city.
Liceo U remains steadfast in its commitment to mental health advocacy, continually participating in programs that support the well-being of its students and the larger community.
