LICEO U HOSTS ANNUAL H.E.L.P.S.

To address the needs of its partner communities, Liceo de Cagayan University organized its yearly H.E.L.P.S. (Health, Education, Legal, and Public Service) initiative at the East Academic Cluster (EAC) on February 22, 2025.

Led by Dr. Ma. Florencilla Cinches, Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning, and Innovation, and Mr. Salm Kairo Dumanlag, Director of the Office of Extension and Service-Learning, this year’s H.E.L.P.S. catered to PhilHealth beneficiaries from Barangay Consolacion, Barangay Dansolihon, Barangay Puntod, and Barangay Bayanga.

The event featured a wide range of public services provided by various academic units. The College of Nursing and Rehabilitation Sciences conducted physical therapy and rehabilitation assessments, while the College of Medical Laboratory Science offered diagnostic services, including CBC, urinalysis, stool examination, and blood typing. The College of Medicine facilitated medical check-ups and consultations, and the College of Radiologic Technology handled X-ray services.

Ensuring proper medication distribution, the College of Pharmacy took charge of medicine dispensing. Meanwhile, the School of Teacher Education, College of Arts and Sciences, and the university’s Basic Education departments—Grade School, Junior High School, and Senior High School—delivered educational services to beneficiaries.

Through programs like H.E.L.P.S., Liceo de Cagayan University continues to make a lasting impact on communities by providing essential services and fostering a culture of compassion and civic responsibility. By extending its resources and expertise beyond the campus, the university upholds its mission to empower individuals and contribute to nation-building.
