LICEO U, NEDA-PNVSCA FORGE PARTNERSHIP TO STRENGTHEN VOLUNTEERISM

Liceo de Cagayan University, through its Office of Extension and Service Learning (OESL), has officially partnered with the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) to strengthen volunteerism efforts in alignment with the government’s goals and the university’s mission to serve the community.

A ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) took place on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the New Boardroom, formalizing the collaboration to address volunteer needs and expand opportunities for meaningful community engagement.

The event was graced by key officials from Liceo U and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), including Executive Director of NEDA-PNVSCA, Donald James D. Gawe CESO III; Regional Director of NEDA Region X, Mylah Faye Aurora B. Cariño; Officer-in-Charge of the Policy, Advocacy, and Technical Services Division (PATSD), Kenneth C. Siruelo; University President Dr. Alain Marc P. Golez; Chief Operations Officer (COO), Dr. Denise O. Orong; Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning, and Innovation (VP - REPI), Dr. Ma. Florecilla C. Cinches; and Director for OESL, Salm Kairo C. Dumanlag.

"This partnership is a testament to our unwavering commitment to serve the community and contribute to the nation's progress through volunteerism," Dr. Golez remarked.

Moreover, Gawe highlighted the importance of partnerships in achieving sustainable development goals.

"By joining hands with institutions like Liceo de Cagayan University, we are creating a stronger network of volunteers ready to address pressing community needs and drive positive change," he said.

The collaboration is expected to open doors for innovative projects, volunteer mobilization, and capacity-building programs that will benefit not only the university and its students but also the communities it seeks to serve.
