Kapihan sa Liceo Opens with Health Talk on Hypertension
Through
the initiative of the Office of the Vice President for Human Resources, Liceo
de Cagayan University launched Kapihan sa Liceo today, September 26, 2025, at
EAC Room 201. This new health and wellness program is designed for employees,
providing a relaxed space to step away from work, enjoy a cup of coffee, and
engage in meaningful conversations that nurture both personal and professional
growth.
The
first session featured the talk “High Blood, High Risk: Understanding and
Preventing Hypertension” delivered by Dr. Oona C. Aguilar, Practicing Family
Medicine Physician, Mental Health Practitioner, and University Physician. Known
as the “silent disease,” hypertension affects millions of Filipinos, often
without noticeable symptoms. Dr. Aguilar shared valuable insights and practical
tips on recognizing and managing this condition.
Through
initiatives like Kapihan sa Liceo, the University, guided by the VP for Human
Resources, continues to champion the well-being of its employees, promoting a
healthier and more balanced workplace community.
